Flight Training

Cloud 9 Aviation, located at Washington County Airport in Washington, Pennsylvania, offers a range of flight training services suitable for various experience levels. Their offerings include:

Flight Instruction: They provide expert flight training tailored to individual needs, accommodating both beginners and experienced pilots aiming to enhance their skills.

Aircraft Rentals: For pilots holding at least a Private Pilot certificate, Cloud 9 Aviation offers rental options to maintain proficiency or build flight hours.

Diverse Fleet: Their fleet includes various aircraft models such as the Cessna 152, Cessna 172S, Piper PA-28-180, and Cirrus SR20, catering to different training requirements and preferences.

Professional Instructors: The team comprises FAA Certified Flight Instructors like Tim Hillgartner, Larry Long, Dante Bartolotta, and Nathan Jones and Levi Thorpe, each bringing unique expertise and a commitment to student success.

Redbird FMX Simulator

The Redbird AATD (Advanced Aircraft Training Device) is used at many larger flight schools to complement the rigors of FAR part 141 flight training, whereas the instructors at Cloud 9 Aviation can provide students and registered pilots a more personal and structured simulator session in a more relaxed FAR part 91 operation.

The Redbird AATD can be used to log instrument flight time experience for currency, as well as the IPC (Instrument Pilot Currency except the circling approach, which must be completed in an actual aircraft). Overall, the simulator can be used up to 22 hours towards the instrument rating, 50 hours toward a commercial rating, 25 hours towards the ATP.

Currently the simulator is set up to emulate a Cessna 172. The cockpit panel consists of the basic instruments which allows the student to use and practice with the Garmin 530-430 stack. There is also a Cirrus SR22 panel that has a Garmin 1000 panel.

These are the same approaches that are offered to professional pilots at places such as SimCom, SimuFlite and Flight Safety. The instructors are available for all of your needs in aviation.

“When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”
